Pelham, NH Police Arrest Driver After Truck Crashes Into Utility Pole
PELHAM, N.H. — A Lowell man was arrested Tuesday after police said he crashed a pickup truck into a telephone pole while driving under the influence.
Officers responded around 11:32 a.m. Sept. 9 to Bridge Street, where they found a 1998 GMC Sierra with heavy front-end damage. The driver, identified as 60-year-old Kevin Avila, was transported by Pelham Fire Department to a hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation determined Avila veered off the road before striking the pole. Officer Richard Glynn concluded he was impaired, and Avila was arrested and charged with DUI second offense, operating after suspension, reckless operation and criminal mischief.
Avila was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 18 in Salem District Court. Police asked witnesses to contact investigators with additional information.
