HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — Police recovered a truck reported stolen in 2012 after it was found submerged in water near Highway 7 earlier this week.

Officers responded around 4:02 p.m. Sept. 8 to the 3000 block of East Mechanic Street after James with Echo Divers spotted the vehicle using a drone. The property owner gave permission for police and recovery crews to retrieve the vehicle.

With assistance from the Lee Summit Underwater Recovery team and J’s Southland Tow Company, the truck was pulled from the water. Investigators believe it ran off the roadway into the water more than a decade ago.

The vehicle’s owner has been notified. Police said there are no suspects at this time and thanked all who helped in the recovery.
