This is the shocking moment a playful pet dog joined her owner on a hammock, causing it to snap.

CCTV footage shows the brown pooch leaning on the man, who was busy browsing his phone while resting on the hanging bed in Chonburi, Thailand.

The canine attempted to hop in and climb onto him, but because of her weight, she could only rest her paws on the man's stomach on August 25.

Moments later, the owner lifted the dog's hind legs to help her onto the hammock.

However, as soon as the animal managed to get in, the ropes holding the hammock broke, sending the pair crashing to the ground with a loud thud.

The comical mishap even startled another dog resting in a nearby cage.

The man was later seen standing up with his pet, both visibly confused by what had just happened.

He reportedly did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
