British tourist, 58, attacked by four ladyboys in orgy-gone-wrong when he 'argued about price'
A British tourist was allegedly attacked by transgender prostitutes over a payment dispute when an orgy went wrong in Thailand.
Duncan Hamish Kirkwood, 58, was reportedly feeling lonely when he called two sex workers to his condominium in the notorious Thai 'Sin City' Pattaya on September 12.
Expecting an all-night romp, he was shocked when two more appeared and the group demanded 40,000 Baht (930 GBP).
The Brit, from Winchester, turned the prostitutes away but they allegedly demanded the money from him. When he continued to refuse, one of the ladyboys was said to have grabbed a kitchen knife and slashed his head while the others battered him with kitchenware and their stilettos.
The blood-soaked holidaymaker said he managed to scramble away and shout a security guard for help.
Police arrived after receiving a report at 5:36 am, but the suspects had already left. They found Duncan bleeding from multiple cuts across his scalp. He was given first aid then taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police Lieutenant Manasak Ponyiam, Deputy Inpsector of Investigation at the local station, said: ‘We have not yet been able to arrest the suspects, but we checked the security camera and found there were four of them.
‘The victim met two of them at the beach and asked them to come to the condominium room where he was residing. When he arrived and entered the room, there were two more waiting. But he only wanted to pay for the two he found on the beach.
‘These transgender women attacked him because they were angry at being chased away without payment, even though the foreigner had not used their service. The issue seems like a misunderstanding in the deal.
‘The weapon used for slicing him was a kitchen knife and only one of them used it. The others used a pan, kitchenware, and high heels to hit him before they escaped.
‘Since guests are not required to leave their ID cards, there is no information on the perpetrators. The policy would be difficult to enforce in practice because this condominium has a high volume of people coming and focuses on short-term rentals.
‘We received a clue that this group normally works along Pattaya Beach, so we are currently coordinating with investigators to check security cameras.'
Duncan said he met the suspects along the city's beach, where sex workers often seek customers. He told police he took them home 'to relieve his loneliness'.
He added: 'I took two girls back. But four girls came back. I don't know how the other two turned up. And then they asked for 40,000 baht. Otherwise, they would call the police.
'I was like, 'no no no, just leave the room alright? I'm paying for the normal fee.'
However, the prostitutes then became angry, overpowering him and attacking him with kitchen utensils and their shoes.
Police said the search for the suspects was ongoing.
The incident is the latest involving violent ladyboys in Pattaya.
In July, three ladyboys stole money from a disabled British tourist who hired them for sex in the same resort town.
The trio allegedly made off with 6,000 baht (140 GBP) in local currency and 150 pounds in British notes while Chris John Glennon, 60, shuffled into the shower as he prepared expectantly for a wild night on July 16.
The tourist was horrified when he emerged and the room was bare with some of his money missing.
Police said they were hunting two Thai suspects who had left their IDs at reception while the third suspect was still being identified.
Tourists are regularly attacked or caught up in crime, leading Pattaya to be dubbed 'Sin City'.
Embarrassed officials in the central government have launched tourism initiatives to attract families and rebrand Pattaya as a safe destination.
Authorities have also introduced safety measures, such as improved lighting and CCTV.
Despite some success in cleaning up the town's image, alcohol and sex remain its biggest draws, often leading to a high rate of crime and accidents.
