GAZA, PALESTINE - SEP. 12: Another little girl has died of malnutrition in the Gaza Strip, Palestine on Friday (Sep. 12).

Amina Mouruf, a 10-year-old Palestinian girl, died in the enclave, where Israel imposed a heavy siege and restrictions, preventing her and thousands of others from accessing basic food.

Amine's body was brought to Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital in Deir al-Balah for burial.

According to the Health ministry, 133 of the deaths, 27 of them children, occurred after the UN-backed hunger monitoring system Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) formally declared Gaza a famine zone last month.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have completely closed all Gaza border crossings, pushing the territory’s 2.4 million population into famine.

Israel continues its offensive on Gaza, which has killed more than 64,700 Palestinians since October 2023, displaced hundreds of thousands, and triggered famine, claiming at least 411 lives, including 142 children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
