A Joint Team from the West Sumatra Regional Police and the Solok Police Raided Illegal Gold Mining
A joint team from the Solok Police and the West Sumatra Regional Police raided an illegal gold mine in Agarng Village, Solok Regency. To prevent further activity, officers burned down the miners' huts and boxes and erected police tape.
Based on a public report regarding illegal gold mining (PETI) activities causing environmental damage in the Kubang Nan Raok area of Agarng Village, Payung Sekaki District, Solok Regency.
Following up on the public report, a joint team from the West Sumatra Regional Police and the Solok Police immediately went to the mining site.
After approximately 5 hours of travel, the joint team arrived at the location at around 7:20 PM WIB. The joint officers discovered illegal gold mining activity. However, the team did not find any perpetrators at the location, only mining equipment such as boxes and huts used by the miners to rest.
The officers immediately destroyed the miners' huts and boxes by burning them to prevent their further use. Officers also erected a banner at the location. Prohibition of illegal gold mining activities and police lines //
Going forward, the Solok Police, together with the West Sumatra Regional Police, will continue to conduct routine patrols and enforcement to ensure that illegal mining practices are completely eradicated //
