Dog shelter staff battled to save dozens of pooches during widespread flooding in Bali.

Devastated Eta, owner of MyBaliDogsRescue, cried for help after her sanctuary was inundated during heavy downpours on the holiday island on September 10.

Footage shows kindhearted volunteers and staff members evacuating the canines using a platform, wading through the floodwaters to rescue the stranded animals.

Eta has been rescuing abandoned and abused dogs in Denpasar, a region recently battered by torrential rainfall. The deadly floods rose quickly, giving Eta and her team little time to escape, resulting in several dogs drowning in the shelter.

She said that 111 of the rescued canines are now safe, while 30 are still missing, and several others have died due to the flooding.

A GoFundMe page, set up by Eta's friend Alex, described the dire situation.

It said: 'The surviving dogs are in urgent need of shelter, food, and medical care. We are working around the clock to get trucks in to evacuate the dogs, but the roads are closed, and resources are stretched thin.

'Eta has lost almost everything - her shelter, supplies, and the stability she worked so hard to build for these animals. Every dollar donated will go directly to Eta to help rebuild and repair the sanctuary once the water recedes, cover emergency boarding and housing for the surviving dogs, provide urgent medical care, food, and clean water, and replace destroyed supplies and infrastructure.

'Eta has always been the first to step up for animals in need. Now, it's our turn to step up for her.'

By Saturday, the GoFundMe page had raised 7,128 GBP to support the recovery efforts.

Reports said the intense downpours began on Tuesday morning, lashing the island and triggering floods in several villages across the region.

Officials confirmed that at least 19 people have lost their lives due to the freak weather.
