This is the dramatic moment stranded residents were rescued using a ladder as floods killed 19 people in Bali.

Footage shows an emergency responder climbing the structure with others assisting from below, helping to rescue locals trapped in a two-storey home as floodwaters surged through the area on September 10.

That same day, vehicles were left stranded in floodwaters in Denpasar, and homes were submerged in several areas.

A three-storey home also collapsed along the banks of the Badung River. At least three residents, a mother and her children, were reported missing following the incident.

In another part of the island, a woman was swept away by strong currents after falling from her motorcycle while attempting to cross a flooded road with her husband in Jembrana Regency.

In nearby Negara City, a hotel was inundated, forcing guests to evacuate to safer ground.

Reports said the intense downpour began on Tuesday morning, lashing the island and triggering floods in several villages across the region.
