Wave crashes into sea defence sending tourists running
This is the dramatic moment a massive wave crashed into a sea defence, sending tourists running.
Footage shows the sudden swell hitting the crowd standing by the barrier, prompting them to fall back immediately at the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, China.
Several onlookers can be seen slipping on the pavement as they sprint to safety, with some being swept by the water on September 11.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
The Qiantang River Tide attracts thousands of tourists yearly due to its famous tidal bore. The phenomenon occurs when ocean tides forcefully surge into the river's narrow mouth, creating massive waves that can reach heights of up to 30 ft (9 m).
