US, Phoenix: Phoenix Fiery Semi Truck vs Light Rail Train Crash With Sound On Tape
Phoenix, United States - September 15, 2025 09/14/2025 07:16 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Fire Department press release: Firefighters were dispatched around 7:30 PM to the intersection of 18th St. and Washington for the reports of a light rail accident. Crews arrived and found a collision involving a semi truck and the Metro Light Rail. Firefighters encountered heavy flames and smoke from both the semi and the light rail. The accident caused the light rail to be de-energized knocking out the power system. Crews were able to gain fire control preventing the flames from extending to an adjacent building. No employees or passengers on the light rail were injured. The semi truck driver was transported to the hospital in stable condition. There were no firefighter injuries reported.
