Philippines - September 13, 2025 Authorities conducted a pre-emptive evacuation on September 13, 2025, as rising water levels from Bago Creek and Matina River threatened residents in Bulusan Uno, Talomo, Davao City. The operation was carried out jointly by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) Davao, and 911 Davao. Coast Guard Sub Station Matina Aplaya and Coast Guard Station Davao coordinated with 911 Davao City to assess the situation and assist affected families. A total of 19 families, comprising 66 individuals, were safely evacuated and transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish on Cordillera Street, Talomo Proper, Davao City. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas” was highlighted as the PCG demonstrated its ongoing commitment to serving the Filipino people during emergencies. At 2:58 AM on September 14, 2025, CDRRMO Davao officially concluded the evacuation operations, confirming that all personnel and assets were accounted for and secured. The PCG continues to work closely with local government units and partner agencies to ensure public safety during adverse weather conditions.
