7. HAFIZS ATTENDING “GRAND QURAN RECITATION” PROGRAM KHAN YOUNIS, PALESTINE - SEPT. 15, 2025: Five hundred hafiz who lost their fathers in Israeli attacks came together in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza at the “Grand Quran Recitation” event.

In the program held in el-Bereke Orphans Village located in the al-Mawasi area of the city of Khan Younis, about 500 hafiz who are children of martyrs recited the Quran from beginning to end from memory.

Despite the deep wounds caused by Israeli attacks and the war, the orphan children’s devotion to the Quran and their determination came to the forefront.

The village, which hosts nearly 3,000 orphans, aims with such events both to strengthen the children’s religious and spiritual ties and to instill morale in them.

The Israeli army has continued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing nearly 65,000 Palestinians since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
