Factory staff rescue hungry bear cub from pit filled with fish entrails
This is the heartwarming moment factory staff members rescued a hungry bear cub from a pit filled with fish entrails.
A group of workers spotted the hapless bruin stranded inside the tank in Kamchatka, Russia.
The men retrieved the creature using a wooden board to help it climb out of the pool of fish waste on September 9.
Footage captured by hunting inspector Vladimir Shabliy shows a man in a coat dropping a lasso rope for the cub to grab, but he was unable to pull the animal up.
Moments later, they slid the plank onto the pit, allowing the bear to clamber onto the platform using its claws.
They then threw the rope again, which the cub bit onto and used to pull itself up to the board before reaching the ground.
Once free, the creature charged at the men. Fearing it might attack, the workers quickly retreated, sprinting out of the area as the cub ran off into the nearby forest.
Russia is home to one of the world's largest bear populations that are found across Siberia, Kamchatka, and forested regions. These animals are powerful predators and can weigh several hundred kilograms, making encounters dangerous.
These beasts are known to be unpredictable and can attack if threatened, hungry, or surprised. There have also been incidents of bears attacking humans and livestock, reinforcing local fears.
