Storyline: Al-Ghafri Tower, the tallest building in the Gaza Strip, was leveled to the ground on Monday shortly after the Israeli army issued an evacuation order. The 20-storey high rise, located in western Gaza City, housed press offices for international and local news agencies. The Israeli military says the building hid Hamas infrastructure. An exclusive footage from the CGTN captures the terrifying collapse of the tower, which sparks concern and outcry among local residents. "When the tower was struck next to us, my tent was completely destroyed, and nothing was left. At the same time, we cannot flee to the south because we don't even have the money. As you can see, I have an amputation, and it's very difficult for me to move," said Jihad Hameed. "We don't know what to do. These are the extremely harsh conditions in which we are living. Their aim is to terrorize and intimidate people and force them to move south and evacuate Gaza City so they can destroy it," said Rafat al-Qudra. "Al-Ghafri Tower was one of Gaza City's landmarks. They are trying to erase the national and historical landmarks in Gaza City by targeting towers, mosques and churches in an attempt to empty the city of its residents and terrify them," said Osama Mortaja. On Sept 9, the Israeli military ordered all residents of Gaza City to evacuate ahead of an expanded assault, warning that those who remain there face grave danger. As Israel intensified strikes, about 300,000 people have fled Gaza City, Israel's Army Radio reported on Sunday, citing security officials. Shotlist: Gaza City, Gaza Strip - Sept 15, 2025: 1.
