This is the hilarious moment a Beluga whale startled a toddler at a zoo in China.

The playful sea creature was spotted interacting with the young boy during a visit to Qingdao Polar Ocean Park in Shandong.

Footage shows the child standing in front of the tank, waving as he watched the whale gracefully swim by on September 16.

Moments later, the mischievous whale suddenly approached and opened its mouth near him.

Frightened by the sight, the toddler screamed and cried, trying to scramble away from the platform.

His mother quickly scooped him up and comforted him, while onlookers laughed at the entertaining encounter.
