STUDENT ABIR MOHAMMED SPEAKING TO REPORTER SANAA, YEMEN - SEPTEMBER 16, 2025: Yemeni students and academics at the University of Science and Technology in the capital Sanaa held a mass rally on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in support of Palestinians enduring Israel’s ongoing genocide and blockade in the Gaza Strip. Despite heavy rain, the demonstration drew a large turnout from students and faculty alike. The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued its genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip since October 2023, killing almost 65,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave uninhabitable and led to starvation and spread of diseases.
