Los Angeles, United States - September 16, 2025 09/15/2025 10:30 pm GMT-0700 VERMONT-SLAUSON, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Division units responded to a reported shooting in the area of Slauson Avenue and Figueroa Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim in a parking lot who was not conscious and not breathing. Officers initiated CPR on the victim, and Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were requested to the scene. Paramedics arrived and transported the male to an area hospital while continuing CPR. LAPD Spokesperson Officer Im told Key News Network that the 28-year-old Black male was pronounced deceased at the hospital. According to Im, the shooting is gang-related, and there is no suspect information. Officers had established a crime scene in the area. The LAPD's South Bureau Robbery Homicide Division is handling the investigation.
