A pair of flying electric taxis collided mid-air at a trade show in China.

Local media reported that the two Xiaopeng Huitian electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles clashed at the Changchun Air Show on September 16.

Officials said the airborne vehicles participating in a two-ship formation drill by Guangdong Huitian General Aviation came into contact due to insufficient clearance.

Footage shows one of the vehicles landing safely while smoke, apparently from the other, is visible nearby on the field in Lyuyuan District, Changchun, Jilin Province.

An incident report from the Aviation Safety Network stated: 'During the 2025 Changchun Air Show, two Xpeng Aeroht eVTOL vehicles were involved in a mid-air collision.

'One aircraft crashed and caught alight, while the other reportedly landed safely. At least one person aboard was injured.'

Firefighters were seen extinguishing the blaze. An investigation is ongoing.
