Authorities conducted surveys revealing that the city experiences more than 200 days of windy weather annually, which sparked development of Hami City's wind industry. Today Hami is home to 14 large-scale wind power companies, three industrial parks, and the region's largest and most complete wind power equipment manufacturing base.
