Storyline: China's Xinjiang propels growth with wind power [Voice_over] Hami City of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is cashing in on its windy weather after shifting its focus from agriculture and animal husbandry to green renewable resources. Authorities conducted surveys revealing that the city experiences more than 200 days of windy weather annually, which sparked development of Hami City's wind industry. Today Hami is home to 14 large-scale wind power companies, three industrial parks, and the region's largest and most complete wind power equipment manufacturing base.
