A tourist was amazed to find Turkish coffee being served in the Philippines.

David Villa Senor, who was on vacation, discovered the traditional Middle Eastern coffee being served at Cezve Kahve Cafe in Baguio, Benguet.

Footage shows a barista moving a long-handled pot, or cezve, over hot sand in circular motions.

Moments later, as the foam rose, the worker lifted the pot from the heat and poured the coffee into a small cup.

David said: 'I was surprised to see that I didn't have to go to Turkey to find coffee prepared in the same way.'

Turkish coffee is an ancient method of making unfiltered coffee, still popular in Turkey, Greece, and neighbouring regions. Its signature foam forms as carbon dioxide escapes from the heated grounds, with natural oils and proteins trapping the bubbles while slow simmering keeps the froth stable.
