Los Angeles, United States - September 17, 2025 09/16/2025 09:30 pm GMT-0700 NORTH HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A stolen vehicle pursuit that began on the 14 Freeway ended in the San Fernando Valley after California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers disabled the car with spike strips and took one person into custody. Authorities said the vehicle had been reported stolen and was being tracked by its onboard transponder when CHP units first located it traveling northbound on the 14 Freeway near Palmdale Boulevard. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, re-entering the southbound lanes of the 14. CHP deployed spike strips, successfully deflating the front driver’s side tire. Sparks were seen flying from underneath the vehicle as it continued southbound. The pursuit continued into the San Fernando Valley, where the driver exited onto the 405 Freeway. The chase ultimately came to an end, and officers arrested the suspect without further incident. No injuries were immediately reported. The incident remains under investigation.
