This is the shocking moment a farmer was attacked outside his home by a cow that was in heat.

Suwan Gimpa, 64, was assaulted by the brown bovine he had raised for five years in his front yard in Roi Et, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the elderly man in a vibrant orange raincoat walking behind the horned beast on September 11.

Moments later, the hoofed creature charged at the unsuspecting pensioner and headbutted him on his back.

The impact sent Suwan falling to the ground on his stomach and he immediately lay on his back, unable to move.

Meanwhile, the cattle can be seen standing nearby, watching him groan in pain.

Jakkrachai Raksangeon, his son-in-law, said: 'A female cow was in heat, which made the male one aggressive and gored my father.

'I want this to be a lesson for cattle owners that no matter how long you've raised them, you must always be careful. After the incident, we sold this bull right away because it injured my father-in-law.

'He had worn the same orange raincoat before without incident, but I think that the attack may have been triggered by the bull's possessiveness.'
