Impressive scenes show the progress of the £4bn gigafactory taking shape in Somerset.

UK's largest electric vehicle (EV) battery plant is planned to produce batteries for up to 500,000 vehicles annually.

Construction is under way at the Gravity Enterprise Zone between Puriton and Woolavington by Agratas, Tata Group's global battery business.

A new M5 junction has been announced as part of infrastructure plans for the plant.

The gigafactory, planned for full operation by 2027, will initially provide batteries for Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), both part of the Tata Group.

Photographer Robin Morrison said: "The steel work is now up for Building 1 and I was keen to photograph it just after sunrise."

"Just as I got to the site, a huge rain shower went through the area which can be seen in the distance."
