A buck became trapped in a soccer net in a high cull area, prompting an urgent call to the Strong Island Animal Rescue League.

Rescue workers arrived quickly and worked to free the deer. Thankfully, the animal suffered no broken bones or serious injuries and was later seen feeding on a hillside, appearing healthy and unharmed.

The rescue team clarified that in New York, it is illegal to use tranquilizers or sedatives on wildlife, and they have never done so, addressing common public questions about their methods.

The family involved removed the damaged soccer net immediately and expressed relief that the deer survived. They took the incident seriously and plan to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Strong Island Animal Rescue reminded the public that taking down athletic nets when not in use is a simple step that can save wildlife lives.
