Beirut, Lebanon - September 17, 2025 A massive solidarity march took place in Beirut on the first anniversary of the pager bombing that rocked Lebanon in September 2024. This was one of the bloodiest and most mysterious days in the country's modern history, when Israel simultaneously detonated thousands of devices in Beirut's southern suburbs and other areas, leaving thousands dead and thousands injured. Israel stated that its attack targeted Hezbollah members, who use the devices among its military cadres. However, the attacks also affected many innocent people. Official sources reported approximately 39 were killed, including two children, and more than 3,400 wounded, including children and civilians who were near the pagers at the time of the explosion. The injured were distributed to various hospitals, in a disaster dubbed the "telecommunications massacre."
