RESCUE TEAMS ON SHOREKOCAELI, TÜRKİYE - SEPTEMBER 18: Seven crew members of a cargo vessel that ran aground in Kocaeli, a northwestern province of Türkiye, on Thursday, Sept. 18, were evacuated by helicopter. The Tanzanian-flagged cargo ship "RAPID", measuring 81 meters in length, was reported to have been driven ashore off the coast of Kandira’s Kefken district due to adverse weather conditions. Following the report, units from the Directorate General of Coastal Safety, the Coast Guard Command, Kocaeli Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the gendarmerie, and the fire department were dispatched to the area. Efforts were launched to refloat the vessel, which had run aground on rocky coastal terrain, and to evacuate its seven-member crew. All seven crew members of the commercial cargo vessel were subsequently evacuated by helicopter.
