A motorcycle rider was tended to by passing drivers when he was knocked over on a busy road in Thailand.

Footage shows the motorbiker lying on the asphalt beside his wrecked two-wheeler in the capital Bangkok.

He was not wearing a helmet and appeared to writhe in pain behind a white car that he had earlier rear-ended.

The vehicle driver, an elderly woman, was seen stepping out of the hatchback moments later while the rider remained curled up on the ground in a fetal position.

An onlooker said in the video: ‘It happened so fast, the motorcycle rider did not brake in time.'

The vehicles involved in the collision stayed on the bridge while awaiting police and medics.

Residents and bystanders from nearby buildings gathered to watch after witnessing the crash.

One lane of the road became impassable, causing traffic delays in the area.

Police officers and emergency responders later arrived at the scene, assisted by a traffic officer who worked to ease the congestion.
