La Vergne Officer Joins Child on Trampoline During Call
LA VERGNE, Tenn. — A routine disturbance call turned into a lighthearted community moment Thursday when a La Vergne police officer joined a child on a trampoline.
Officers responded Sept. 18 to a report of a disturbance but quickly determined the situation was simply “children being children.” Rather than leaving, Field Training Officer Rhea chose to connect with the young resident, bouncing alongside him on the trampoline.
The department praised the interaction as an example of servant leadership and community policing, emphasizing that building trust and relationships is as important as enforcing laws.
