GAZA, PALESTINE - SEPTEMBER 19, 2025: As Israel’s blockade, occupation, and genocide in Gaza continue unabated, at least eight Palestinians, including children, were killed and several others wounded at dawn on Friday when Israeli shelling struck displacement tents in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.

Among the dead were siblings Khadija Al-Hams, 10, and her brother Mohammed, 6.

At Nasser Hospital, grieving relatives and family members gathered to bid a heartbroken farewell to the children and held funeral prayers. Their mother, herself wounded in the attack, sobbed as she said her final goodbyes.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has carried out a genocidal assault on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of more than 65,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of at least 440 Palestinians, including 147 children.

On Tuesday, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory confirmed that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza.
