Yemen: Rally in Sanaa protests against Israeli military operation in Gaza
Thousands of people gathered in the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa and other areas on Friday to protest against Israel's ongoing military operations in Gaza and the threats it sent to other countries in the region. People attending the protest condemned what they described as Israeli massacres, genocide, starvation, expulsion and destruction in the Gaza Strip, saying such actions represent a grave violation of international law. They also denounced the United States for its bias towards Israel and its repeated use of veto power in the UN Security Council to block ceasefire resolutions. "Despite repeated Israeli aggression against Sanaa and Yemen, and despite Israeli violations against Qatar, Palestine, and neighboring countries, the Yemeni people remain steadfast in their position, continue to support the Palestinian people, and will persist in carrying out military operations in solidarity with Palestine," said Abdulrahman Al-Ahnomi, director general of the General Corporation for Radio and Television of Houthi. Israel has recently intensified airstrikes on areas controlled by the Houthis, expanding its targets beyond military sites to include ports, power stations, fuel depots and other infrastructure. Media organizations have also been hit, with one strike on September 10 reportedly killing 32 journalists. Houthi leaders and protesters at Friday's event vowed to maintain their support for Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, and pledged to continue launching drones and missiles toward Israel until its military operations in Gaza cease.
