Zelenskyy added that guided bombs targeted civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, damaging fifteen multi-story buildings and ten private houses.
A separate strike caused a fire in a parking area, destroying a two-story building and five vehicles over 100 square meters, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.
Rescue operations and debris clearance continue at the affected sites.
Zelenskyy also noted that the UN General Assembly is beginning in New York and stressed the importance of strong international action to hold Russia accountable for the war, as overnight drone strikes, more than 140 in total, including some Shahed drones, hit Donetsk, Dnipro, Sumy, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson.
Russia started its "special military operation" on Feb. 24, 2022 and claimed that it is aimed at protecting people in the eastern region of Ukraine.
Since then, millions have been displaced, thousands have lost their homes, and hundreds of medical and educational institutions have been destroyed.
