Storyline: China-built solar park fuels UAE's clean transition [Voice_over] In the vast desert, 65 kilometers outside Dubai in the UAE, a dazzling spectacle of beams flickers across the barren landscape. It's a solar-power project between China, where it's known as Noor Energy 1, and the UAE, where it's known as the fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Part of the park includes 70,000 heliostats arranged in a circle that reflect and concentrate sunlight toward a 263-meter tower in the middle. The other part includes roughly 6,000 parabolic trough collectors that act like young sunflowers, continuously tracking the sun to collect energy. So far, the park has generated approximately 6.7 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity, powering homes across Dubai and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 3 million tons.
