This is the dramatic moment an unhinged man hurled a bicycle at passersby.

Footage shows the 44-year-old pedestrian throwing the two-wheeler at women walking along a street in Taipei, Taiwan.

The shocked onlookers sprinted away, narrowly dodging the bike on September 18.

The visibly agitated man then picked up the vehicle again and tossed it at the women a second time.

Terrified bystanders immediately called the police, who were patrolling nearby.

Officers took him to the police station after he denied attacking people. He was later released once his mood had stabilised.

Onlookers said he had grabbed a parked bike from the roadside and damaged it.

Locals feared that the man was emotionally unstable and unsafe to be in public.

Meanwhile, the owner of the damaged bicycle reportedly did not press charges against the suspect.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
