PRESS STATEMENT BY YEMENI ARTISTS (Arabic)SANAA, YEMEN - SEP. 22: On Monday, Sep. 22, Yemeni artists marched toward Tahrir Square in Sanaa to protest Israel’s attacks and blockade on Gaza. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the rally featured calls of solidarity with Palestinians and condemnation of Israel’s bombardment and starvation tactics. The artists urged their peers worldwide not to remain silent in the face of genocidal war in Gaza. Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out a genocide in Gaza, which has so far killed over 65,300 Palestinians, most of them women and children. The onslaught has displaced hundreds of thousands alongside a blockade on humanitarian aid that has led to famine and claimed the lives of at least 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
