A wife was furious when her husband rescued his motorcycle first instead of her when they were swept into a river during floods.

Supharee, 48, was travelling home with her spouse Nirun Saensuk, 47, when they tried to cross a submerged road and were carried away by strong currents in Prachinburi, Thailand, on September 22.

The couple became separated as they drifted through the raging water, but Supharee was upset when her partner swam towards their blue Yamaha Finn before helping her.

Footage shows rescuers later retrieving the vehicle from the river after the couple had already been brought to safety.

Wife Supharee said: ‘It did not matter. I am strong. I tried to swim back to the shore when he went for the moped first.'

The scooter had to be towed to the nearest mechanic for repair as its engine was soaked.

Husband Nirun said: ‘I was worried about my motorcycle first. My wife was swept away by the water, but it looked like she could manage to cling to the bank.

'My motorcycle cost a lot. I can't afford to buy a new one.'

The wife appeared to have given her husband the silent treatment throughout the rescuing of the motorcycle but the couple was unhurt.
