This is the hilarious moment a husband's chivalry went out the window when a gecko landed on his wife's back.

CCTV footage shows the couple closing their shop in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand, when the lizard suddenly fell onto the woman as she pulled the metal barrier shut.

Startled, she screamed and begged her husband to remove the creature on July 17.

But the moment he turned and spotted the gecko clinging to her, he let out a terrified shout and frantically backed away.

He eventually mustered the courage, grabbed a blue PVC pipe, and carefully nudged the reptile off her back, sending it leaping onto the gate instead.

Geckos are extremely common and are even thought by some to bring good luck in Thailand. These harmless creatures pose no serious threat to humans and usually avoid contact.
