Storyline: Typhoon Ragasa, the 18th typhoon of the year, battered south China's Guangdong Province on Tuesday morning, bringing torrential rain, violent winds, and dangerous coastal conditions. At around 07:00, Zhuhai City was hit by a hurricane. Trees were seen violently swaying under the powerful winds. At 08:10, the Zhuhai Meteorological Bureau issued an orange rainstorm warning for the entire city. According to the meteorological authorities, offshore waves in Zhuhai reached heights of four to eight meters from late Tuesday night into Wednesday. The city also faced a red alert for storm surge, with peak tide levels expected to exceed 2.5 meters during the astronomical high tide between 11:00 to 12:00. Local authorities urged residents to remain indoors and avoid all unnecessary travel. Meanwhile, industrial monitoring cameras in Guangdong's coastal areas captured striking footage of the typhoon's impact. At the Guoneng Huizhou Power Plant, located about 191 kilometers from the typhoon's center, cameras recorded turbulent waves pounding the seawall at the facility's cooling water intake at 07:26. Winds at the site reached a maximum of 30.4 meters per second, with gusts at force 11 on the Beaufort scale. Authorities continue to monitor the storm as it moves inland, warning of further heavy rainfall and strong winds across southern China.
