At noon on September 24, Zhuhai, Guangdong, entered the gale-force wind zone of Typhoon Ragasa, with winds reaching force 12. Huge waves battered the coast, causing seawater to flood inland and submerge vehicles at the port.

Strong winds also toppled trees and road signs, while a small truck parked in a residential compound was blown over like a toy car.

Authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage.

Typhoon Ragasa, the 18th super typhoon of 2025, is characterised by extreme intensity, a vast wind radius, and ferocious impact. Its maximum sustained winds at the centre exceeded force 17 (62 m/s), making it the strongest typhoon to hit China in 2025.
