Floods engulfed a town when a river barrier collapsed in northern Thailand.

The deluge submerged streets as torrents of water surged into Phetchabun province on September 21.

The sandbag barriers in front of Dong Tan Park gave way at around 1 pm local time, unleashing floods from the swollen Pa Sak River for the second time in days.

Footage shows rescue teams evacuating bedridden patients and civilians to shelters.

Residents scrambled to relocate their belongings as the floodwaters engulfed the area in less than 10 minutes. 

The Thai Meteorological Department had forecasted widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in northern Thailand, including Phetchabun.
