Singer Zubeen Garg repatriated as fans scramble to touch coffin
The body of Indian singer Zubeen Garg arrived in his hometown, with fans clamouring to touch his coffin.
Footage shows the casket being carried from the plane at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, India, on September 21.
Hundreds of mourners gathered to witness his return, while thousands lined the streets for the funeral procession.
Airport staff and soldiers escorted the coffin into a flower-decorated truck for the parade.
Zubeen Garg was a famous singer and actor from India, especially popular in the northeastern state of Assam. He performed in many languages, including Hindi and Assamese, and released hundreds of songs.
