Animal rescuers saved a young calf that plunged into a 20ft well in Thailand.

The team rushed to a grassy field on September 19 after villagers reported the calf in distress.

They found the hapless animal trapped at the bottom of the pit, struggling to keep its head above the water.

Dramatic footage shows the crew tying ropes around its neck and body before hauling it out. The calf was dragged to safety following a gruelling 20-minute rescue effort.

It was later seen reuniting with its mother and sibling.
