[Voiceover] Tucked in northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Dingjige village has become a model of rural revitalization by focusing on personal property betterment and employment. One initiative includes teaching residents how to better cultivate their land by turning it into a garden to grow produce, or by beautifying it with flowers and other foliage. [Soundbite] Kaderhan Shalshan, Villager: "We grow all kinds of vegetables in our courtyard now. Before, one summer's vegetable purchases cost us over 1,000 yuan. Now that money stays in our own pockets." [Voiceover] Another revitalization initiative includes a small industrial park, about 100 meters from the village entrance. Spanning about two hectares, the park accommodates dozens of small businesses and employs dozens of villagers at jobs near their home. [Soundbite] Silnai, Village official: "The employment rate in Dingjige has reached 95 percent. Everyone has work to do, everyone has money to earn." [Voiceover] Using Dingjige as a guide, officials plan to repeat its success in about 260 additional villages in the region. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
