GAZA, PALESTINE - SEPTEMBER 26, 2025: Israeli forces killed 16 Palestinians on Friday, Sept. 26, in fresh genocidal attacks on homes and civilians waiting for aid across the Gaza Strip, medics said, as the army continued demolishing residential buildings in the besieged enclave.

Ten people were shot dead and others wounded near a food distribution point close to the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza while waiting for humanitarian aid, according to health workers.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Sunday that the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid has risen to 2,523, with more than 18,473 others wounded since October 7.

Many aid groups and international organizations have called the current Israeli-approved aid system a death trap, with hundreds of starving Palestinians killed by Israel while seeking aid.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have completely closed all Gaza border crossings, pushing the territory’s 2.4 million population into famine.

Famine has been confirmed in northern Gaza, and is projected to expand to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis in central and southern Gaza by the end of September, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out genocide in Gaza, which has so far killed over 65,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Months of air and ground assaults have left Gaza largely uninhabitable, pushing its population into famine and disease.
