GENEVA, SWITZERLAND - SEPTEMBER 27: Thousands of protesters marched in the Swiss city of Geneva on Saturday, Sept. 27, calling for international sanctions against Israel over its ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip.

The demonstration began with a gathering at the city's Place Neuve square.

Participants, carrying Palestinian flags and banners expressing solidarity with Palestinians, then marched through the city center for several hours.

Protesters chanted slogans critical of Israel in French, English, and Arabic, denouncing the civilian casualties in Gaza. They held signs and voiced calls for countries to impose sanctions on Israel.

The demonstrators also accused nations that support Israel, with the United States cited as the primary example, of being complicit in the situation.

The march, which lasted approximately three hours, concluded peacefully at Parc Des Cropettes square under extensive security measures.

The Israeli army has killed nearly 66,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. Months of air and ground assaults have left Gaza largely uninhabitable, pushing its population into famine.
