Carrying various signs and photos, the protesters called on the Israeli government to end the war and take action regarding the hostages. Israel estimates 48 hostages remain in Gaza, including 20 alive. Hamas has repeatedly said it is ready for either a partial or comprehensive prisoner exchange. Netanyahu has faced criticism from opposition leaders and hostage families who accuse him of prolonging the war to protect his political standing. The Israeli army has killed nearly 66,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave uninhabitable and led to starvation and the spread of diseases. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its war in the territory. Reporting by Samir Abdalhade / Writing by Ayse Elif Erdis
