The Shenyang-Changbai Mountain high-speed railway, a regional line connected to a high-speed rail artery network consisting of eight vertical lines and eight horizontal lines nationwide, went into official operation on Sunday. The new route, with a total length of 430 kilometers, starts from Shenyang North Railway Station in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, and ends at the Changbai Mountain Railway Station in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in northeast China's Jilin Province. The project is the first long high-speed railway line with an operating mileage of more than 400 kilometers opened this year. The railway route is designed to have an operation speed of 350 kilometers per hour. In the initial stage, it is planned to operate 64 high-speed trains daily. After the opening of the high-speed railway, all 14 prefecture-level cities in Liaoning Province have high-speed rail access, forming a railway rapid passenger transport channel from Shenyang to the Changbai Mountain, which will further improve the layout of the high-speed rail network in northeast China.
