The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 66,055, with 168,376 injured since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on October 7, 2023, Gaza's health authorities said in a statement on Monday. Over the past 24 hours, Israeli attacks killed 50 people and injured 184 others in Gaza, the statement said. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that it had attacked around 140 targets in Gaza in the past 24 hours, including infrastructure it said was being used by Palestinian armed groups. Three divisions of its ground troops continued to push into Gaza City, the IDF said. The Al-Qassam Brigades, an armed wing of Hamas, announced last Sunday that it had lost contact with two Israeli hostages in the past 48 hours due to intense Israeli military attacks in the region.
