A hungry cow caused a stir after wandering into a market and tucking into food being sold.

Arunk Pongsakon and shoppers spotted the brown bovine nibbling on vegetables at a stall near the Samarn Temple in Chachoengsao, Thailand.

Footage shows the horned creature calmly standing still while chomping on the stalks, as the concerned vendor hurriedly moves her produce out of the animal's reach on April 5.

Meanwhile, a calf can be seen lingering behind the bull, curiously watching passing shoppers.

Arunk said: 'It's a male cow that the monk took in after someone donated him to the temple, so he's free to roam around the grounds.

'He loves sneaking out to the market area because there are fresh vegetables to snack on. The little one isn't his calf, but it always tags along with him.'
