NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — A reckless driver was arrested early Saturday after leading police on a pursuit while traveling the wrong way on State Road A1A, officials said.

Around 2 a.m. Sept. 27, officers attempted to stop the southbound vehicle, which had been driving without headlights in the northbound lanes. The driver refused to pull over, sparking a pursuit through the city.

The chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a barrier on the 1700 block of First Street North. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Police said the driver faces charges including felony fleeing and eluding, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and multiple traffic violations.
