Stunned visitors saw a pensive bear sitting with its feet crossed like a human.

Lia Suzana and her family spotted the sun bear lounging inside its dome-shaped shelter at Ragunan Zoo in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 20.

Footage shows the solitary bruin sitting on the ground and leaning back against the wall, lifting one leg while gazing up at the ceiling.

Visitor, Lia, said: 'I didn't understand why the bear looked so sad. It seemed lonely. Then it lifted one of its legs. I asked the keeper, and he said bears are like that, but to me it still looked very lonely and sad.'

Experts said that animals in zoos often develop behaviours not commonly seen in the wild. Limited space, lack of stimulation, or being watched constantly can make them sit or lounge in ways that look unusual.
